Join me to learn more about the fascinating history and development of Jewish music as we know it.
We’ll explore the background of our synagogue prayer modes (The ‘nusach’), the different types of Torah cantillation (The ‘Tropes’) and the ancient liturgical poems (The ‘Piyyutim’). we will also explore the traditions of European jewish music and the more contemporary pieces familiar to many.
